The naughty cat was taking aback, "You know magic?!"
"Yeah, I worked a short stint as a witch's familiar. It didn't work out."
"Could you teach me? Also how did that monster ruin it?" the naughty cat implored.
The magical cat shrugged, "It must have some sort of dampening aura. I'll see about teaching you a thing or too; might give us better odds against that thing."
As both cats reached another abandoned house and took shelter from the pounding rain, they heard distant sirens from where they had come.
