For awhile, I was doing so much NON-fiction, several people asked me if I still wrote Fiction.
The answer was "yes, just not lately."
Going forward here, I'd be happy to discuss the various genera of Non-Fiction and what each takes out of you in the effort to 'get it right'.

The question was asked 'what is your definition of Non-Fiction'.
And my answer is:
"well, damn. Hell. I don't know. I guess, it's well, real stuff, mostly"
But remember: I'm coming from the swamp of a PhD in Metaphysics, I write science fiction, I describe myself as a 'half-drunken, half-crippled, ex-sportswriter', I spent 20 years covering politics and sports, so, asking me what IS non-fiction, I have to respond with the question:
"you tell me where reality ends and fiction begins, and I'll do the same"
and now, I need two ice cubes for my booze? You OK?

Ooh, a snappy response!
But... we both know its an endless cycle, only the very young consider the two completely separate and that is only because they haven't lived life yet.
But I did have to toss the question out there.
And I'm good tonight. Need a bit of food but that is all. Thank you for asking though.

Occasionally I'll ask for suggestions on a forum or on FB or even in the real world. Sometimes I'll see or hear something on the news or some other program that I'll look up and, if there is anything worthwhile there, I'll dig deeper and start writing. And, then, sometimes, once I get started, it'll play out and prove to not be worthwhile. But once in awhile, I'll end up with...... alchemy
