All singing the two cats followed the trail of destruction left by the monster. They passed overturned cars and splintered barricades with a mounting sense of dread. By the time they passed the third burnt out car, the naughty cat had stopped singing.
It was fully dark when they finally reached more recent signs of devastation. Sirens could be heard off in the distance and helicopters were flying overhead. A steady stream of vehicles appeared to be moving in the opposite direction.
"I think we're getting close," the magical cat offered.
"Looks like," the naughty cat sighed. "Let's hope they softened it up some."
