The intro on the Desk site says all that needs said. But, after you check it out, I have a question about something in it. The aforementioned intro: the story: STEAMSWINGthemediadesk.com/newfiles6/steam.htmFollowup question, and, hopefully, discussion later. .

Well, I'll go ahead and ask the question.
The editor lady, besides wanting more, and more explicit, sex tossed into the story, straight and 'otherwise' which I wouldn't do, ALSO wanted MOST of Bill's songs taken out. Not for legal reasons as she thought we could adjust the quotes from one left in to meet fair use guidelines, but because she thought they distracted from the overall story. To me, leaving just the one in meant that the singing wasn't as important to him as it was and would seem dumb.
The 'more sex' thing I thought COULD be done without destroying the story I wanted to tell centered around the two main characters and their 'playtime' and how they end up where they do. But without his music, "Bill" wouldn't have any depth to his character at all, and would be far less interesting.
So, instead of being published, there it is, as written.

So who was the target audience? Men? Women? Both?

When I wrote it, I had in mind a 'mature' but General (straight-ish) audience.
However, the publisher had, well, other things in mind.
It is worth noting that I am still writing, the publisher ceased to exist in any form about four years ago.
