Somebody commented that "The Internet was slow" the other day. With three clicks I proved that it wasn't "The Internet" but it might have been everything from their local machine (a cell phone) to their Carrier, to the ISP for the website they were trying to load. And everything in between. Region Current Index Avg. Response Time (ms) Avg. Packet Loss (%) Asia 87 123 0 % Australia 87 123 0 % Europe 93 64 0 % North America 96 30 0 % South America 92 73 0 % (the page itself has information that explains the terms and data, as well as ALMOST real time tracking of web traffic) They said "well, you know what I mean." I answered, "No, I know what you said, I have no idea what you meant. And, evidently, you don't either." Maybe they won't talk to me any more. .

lol@that last bit. Loss in translation even after an explanation was given to correct it. Rather than say what was said. It might have been kinder and much wiser to admit the mistake and say thank you. Meh, too many people act that way, Doc. Do handle them all the same way?

I see Europe annexed Africa 0% packet loss everywhere though, that's kinda surprising.

Only when their annoyance factor exceeds the limits of my patience at the time. And, as you've seen elsewhere, flamboyant self-righteous ignorance, a la " ignoramus et ignorabimus", puts them in the express lane. .
